Paid Auditory Training Study

Participate in 4 sessions (1.5-2 hours each) at the Patapsco Building, near CP Metro. Sessions involve questionnaires and computerized tasks. Participants receive $55 ($5/session plus a $35 bonus after Session 4), and they will also entered into a raffle for a $150 gift card after Session 4.

The Language Learning and Cognition Study is recruiting participants!  Participate in 14 sessions of 1-2 hours each at the Patapsco building (a short walk from College Park Metro, accessible by Shuttle #104).
 
You will be asked to complete cognitive tasks and questionnaires, as well as training tasks on an iPad.
 
Receive $240 for completing the study ($5 each for sessions 1-13, and $175 at the final session).  After completing session 14, you will get a raffle entry to win one of 10 $200 gift cards!
 
Eligibility criteria include (see website for full list):
  • 18-30 years of age
  • Monolingual native speaker of English
  • Currently enrolled in a 300-level Spanish course or completed a 300-level Spanish course within the past year
  • Not started studying Spanish before age 12
  • No immersion experience of longer than 1 month in a Spanish-speaking country

Paid GVPT Opportunity - Experiment in Computerized Bargaining

File:U.S. currency icon.gifOn Thursday, August 7th, at 2:00 PM and 3:30 PM in 4101 Chincoteague Hall, GVPT will be conducting an experiment in the form of a simple computerized bargaining game.  Students are invited to participate in this experiment.  Students will be paid $6 for agreeing to participate, and students may earn up to a maximum of an additional $50 based on how you play the game. Most participants generally earn between an additional $20 and $30.  The experiment will take no more than 45 minutes to complete, and you will be paid in cash at the end.

If students are selected to participate, they will be notified by 5:00 PM on Tuesday, August 5th.  Students selected will be provided with any additional necessary information via e-mail.

Summer Position - The Fund For Public Interest

The Fund for the Public Interest is a national non-profit organization that  works to builsupport for progressive organizations across the country. We run campaigns for the Human Rights Campaign, USPIRG, and Environment America.  This summer we will be in over 50 cities, including our local Maryland office in College Park, working and lobbying to help win environmental and social justice campaigns.
