Spring 2020: Arlington County Police Department Investigative Assistant Internship

The Arlington County Police Department Investigative Assistant Internship is currently accepting applications for exceptional undergraduate students interns. The Spring 2020 deadline is October 1, 2019.  Applications submitted after that deadline will not be accepted.

Smith Business Minor Information Session


The Smith Business Minor program will be hosting two upcoming information sessions for students who would like to explore the possibility of adding one of three Business minors to their academic portfolio. 

Students who are interested in Business Analytics should attend the Tuesday, October 1st session at 6 pm in Van Munching 2511. While those interested in General Business or the Innovation & Entrepreneurship minors should attend the information session on Thursday, October 3rd at 6pm in Van Munching 1330.

New Student BSOS Graduation Plans - Due Oct 1st

All first semester BSOS student are required to submit a graduation plan by 5:00 PM on Tuesday, October 1, 2019

Sign up for an in-person workshop or an online workshop.  After completing the workshop and your graduation plan, please turn your completed graduation plan into the BSOS Advising Center in 2148 Tydings Hall.

Note:

  • Students currently enrolled in a BSOS section of UNIV 100, will create a graduation plan in their UNIV course and do not need to attend the graduation planning workshop.
  • If your graduation plan is not submitted by October 1st we cannot guarantee your registration block will be lifted prior to your Spring 2020 registration date.

There are two different types of positions that you can choose to apply for: Orientation Advisor (OA) or Program Registrar (PR). Your OA's were the ones that you spent your orientation day with and you probably spoke with a PR if you called to sign up or ask questions about orientation!

Join Alpha Phi Sigma: First Meeting on Sept 25

Image result for alpha phi sigmaThe first meeting of Alpha Phi Sigma (APS) will be held on Wednesday, September 25 from 4:30 PM – 5:30 PM in LeFrak Hall, room 1222.  Current and interested members should try to attend.  

A new Board of Officers (President, Vice President, and Secretary) will be elected and activities will be planned.  In order to run for an officer position, students must be a current member of APS.  Students joining APS in Fall 2019 will not be eligible to run for office. Students interested in running for office should prepare a very brief presentation about themselves.  If you cannot attend but would like to run for an office, please email Nicole Jackson (jacksonn@umd.edu) a short blurb about yourself that will be read to the group.

Alpha Phi Sigma:
Alpha Phi Sigma is the National Criminal Justice Honor Society founded in 1942. Alpha Phi Sigma recognizes academic excellence of Undergraduate and Graduate students of Criminal Justice, as well as Juris Doctorate students.  The goals of Alpha Phi Sigma are to honor and promote academic excellence, community service, educational leadership and unity (http://www.alphaphisigma.org/).  The CCJS staff advisor for Alpha Phi Sigma is Nicole Jackson.
