Develops a working knowledge of the Law Enforcement Unit’s administrative systems and stays abreast of the Board’s policies and or procedural changes. Provides administrative services for Operations Staff. Reviews internal documents and updates administrative files. Collaborates and engages in open communication with support staff to improve workload distribution and teamwork within section. Manages technology to integrate information to support relevant, effective, and timely decision-making.

This position is in the Clerk's Office of the United States Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation (Panel). The incumbent reports to the Operations Supervisor.

Duties

The incumbent manages the progression of cases from opening to final disposition and is proficient in management and maintenance of official case records. The incumbent performs docketing, monitors the completion of the required procedural steps, and performs all necessary noticing, administrative and clerical tasks. The incumbent also reviews filed documents to determine conformity with the Panel's Rules and to ensure that all orders and automated entries are appropriately and accurately docketed. After an initial ninety-day orientation period, the incumbent will be eligible to participate in the court's telework program.

Representative Duties
Duties to be performed include, but are not limited to the following:

Job Overview

Work Interactions

Police Communications Officers (PCO) and Police Communications Specialists (PCS) (both Communications Dispatchers) who are responsible for answering emergency and non-emergency calls for service, dispatching these calls, initiating EMS responses, monitoring alarm systems, and working the customer service desk, staff the Georgetown University Police Communications Center.  Incumbent for this positions answers calls from the public regarding all types of emergencies, ranging from crimes being committed to various kinds of university community needs.  Dispatchers work shifts including days, nights, weekends and holidays. Year-Long Crime Analysis Internship | Amtrak

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Amtrak Police Department’s Office of Intelligence and Analysis is seeking a qualified intern whose primary responsibilities will be the gathering and analyzing of crime trend data collected from the agency’s Records Management System (RMS).  This data will be utilized for predictive policing initiatives to include the APD’s “CompStat” program.  CompStat is a multilayered dynamic approach to crime reduction, quality of life improvement, and personnel and resource management. The intern will work on a variety of projects with a strong focus on crime analysis. This is a year long internship, so candidates should be available from May 2025 to May 2026.

These internships require a commitment of 10 to 40 hours per week, with a minimum of 100 hours over the course of the semester. Spring interns must work on-site at least 50 percent of the time. Interns will collaborate with their supervisors to determine their work schedules.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s Advanced Training Facility, in Harpers Ferry, WV, is looking for at least 5-6 student volunteers to play various roles in support of mock crime scene processing.

 

For students who are interested in careers with U.S. Customs and Border Protection, or law enforcement in general, this will be an excellent opportunity to meet and network with experienced agents and learn about CBP careers while assisting with the training of newly hired agents.

 

Depending on the session, breakfast and possibly lunch will be provided, but there will be no reimbursement for travel or other expenses. Students should be U.S. citizens and be able to be outdoors for approximately 2-3 hours.

Duties

  • Develops a range of statistical products, questionnaires, reports, and presentations to communicate findings and support dissemination to diverse audiences.
  • Assists in conducting reviews and provides support for assignments of a less complex level than those handled by statisticians and mathematicians and determines the application of such data to various projects and initiatives.
