Summer 2012 Registration

Summer registration begins today, Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at 7:30 AM for ALL students.  Registration for the summer session is completed through Testudo.

The Summer Term has two sessions: Session I runs from May 29, 2012 to July 6, 2012, and Session II  runs from July 9, 2012 to August 17, 2012.  For more information on the summer term including billing, registration, requirements, and deadlines, please visit the winter term website at summer.umd.edu.  A full list of winter term courses are available on Testudo

CJSA General Body Meeting

The Criminal Justice Student Association (CJSA) will be holding a general body meeting this Wednesday, February 15th, 2012 from 4:00PM until about 4:45PM in Terrapin Room A in the Student Involvement Suite of the Adele H. Stamp Student Union. The meeting will revolve around  the upcoming CCJS Career Fair and the Career Fair Preparation Workshops on resume building and interviewing.

CCJS Career & Internship Fair - March 6

The Criminal Justice Student Association and the University Career Center at the University of Maryland, College Park would like to cordially invite you to participate in the annual Criminal Justice Career and Internship Fair which will take place on Tuesday, March 6th from 10:00AM-3:00PM in the Grand Ballroom of the Student Union.  The purpose of the Criminal Justice Career and Internship Fair is to provide a networking opportunity for students and alumni interested in full-time, part-time, and internship positions within the criminal justice field.  It is also a chance for students to see what is in the field and gain invaluable information about various agencies where they could potentially work upon graduation.

Campus Event - Study Abroad Fair

Wednesday, February 8, is the spring Study Abroad Fair.  The Education Abroad Office invites you to take a break from updating your four year plans and Just Go Away to the Grand Ballroom of the stamp between 10 AM and 4 PM.  Come learn about credit-bearing study abroad opportunities provided by our own faculty and academic departments, as well as programs administered by our institutional partners.

Education Abroad is committed to helping Maryland students choose quality study abroad programs that fit into their four-year-plans AND provide safe yet challenging opportunities to “Think outside their Borders”.  While Education Abroad coordinators and advisors are familiar with the quality of the student services of these programs, we are not the experts on the academic offerings – you are!   We would like to invite you to speak with the representatives from our partner organizations, in order to help our office identify the most suitable programs for your majors.

Minor in Terrorism Studies

Terrorism Studies Minor Program
Application Process


Eligibility and Application Process (DUE FEBRUARY 24, 2012)

The minor program is limited to 30 students per cohort. Students eligible to apply for selection must meet all of the following requirements (by the time of application):
  • 30 university credits completed, with at least 15 credits awarded by the University of Maryland;
  • Strong academic record (minimum GPA of 3.0 preferred); and
  • At least three full semesters remaining at the University of Maryland prior to graduation.
In selecting students to participate in the program, START emphasizes academic achievement, extracurricular achievement, levels of demonstrated interest in terrorism and/or homeland security (through coursework and/or activities), and diversity of academic disciplines.
