The Supreme Court of the United States Police Department is currently seeking students for a police internship for the Fall 2022 semester. If you are seeking a career in law enforcement this is a wonderful opportunity to learn about federal law enforcement. Credit will be granted for this internship to eligible students through the CCJS department after the proper paperwork has been processed.


Description:

Duties include assisting officers on court days with the general public (advising the public on what is not permitted in the Courtroom, assisting with coat check, directing the hundreds of visitors to the correct locations and general information on the building and surrounding area). Assist the police in maintaining order and decorum, as well as a professional atmosphere in the building. Shadow uniformed officers in their day to day duties, as well as some clerical work. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.


Qualifications:

Successful completion of at least one year of college education. Excellent communication skills, ability to perform under pressure and deal with high level government officials and dignitaries. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and skill in following complex and varied oral and written instructions. Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships and to understand and interpret policies, directions, and procedures applicable to the police department are essential. Internship is subject to completion of a security background check.
