These are 15-30 minute interviews. In the past, they have been very helpful, both for the applicant and the school. They are business formal in attire, but students have not found the meetings to be super-intense. These are all friends/colleagues of ours, and they realize you are learning about them just as they are learning about you.

Apply to become a Feller Center BSOS Peer Mentor!


The Peer Mentor Program is a component of the services the Feller Center Advising Center in BSOS offered to students. Through their service to fellow students, Peer Mentors gain valuable skills in public speaking/presentation, professionalism, and leadership. Peer Mentors primarily facilitate BSOS Graduation Planning Workshops each semester and conduct various presentations in BSOS UNIV100 classes. In preparation for these activities, all new Peer Mentors attend a mandatory class session once a week for their first semester as a Peer Mentor.  All applicants are expected to serve for a minimum of two semesters.  The program will be held in person once weekly.  

Peer Mentors earn one graded academic credit after each successfully completed semester. All interested applicants must complete a BSOS Peer Mentor Application. Applications due by January 8th, 2024 at 11:59 PM.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Provide day to day administrative support to the team: including arranging appointments, information dissemination, and VC/teleconference scheduling, travel bookings.
  • Serve as secretariat for key meetings.
  • Report and track key subject areas in the media and think tanks, including those relating to justice and home affairs, science and technology, illicit finance and anti-corruption. Monitor Congressional appointments, relevant hearings and track key legislation.
  • Process and monitor UK extradition and mutual legal assistance requests.
  • Resolve and be the point of contact for complex visa or passport queries. Own the team’s relationship with decision makers in UKVI, HMPO, and US Embassy London’s Visa team.
  • Support visit programmes for relevant UK officials. Including Ministerial programmes and the scoping, planning and delivery of the annual Science and Technology bilateral meeting with the Department of Homeland Security.

About the Position:

What You'll Do:  
RECEIVES NEW WARRANTS
