 The Feller Center offers a festive backdrop and fun props for you to choose from, allowing you to share your post-graduation plans with their network. Just bring your phone so we can snap the photo for your use!

This event is open to all BSOS undergraduate students, but PSYC students may find it especially helpful. If you are interested in an internship or job working with people who have been displaced due to conflicts in their country, join this visit with the Feller Center. We will travel together as a small group from campus to downtown Silver Spring or registered students may select to meet us there. The International Rescue Committee helps people whose lives and livelihoods are shattered by conflict and disaster to survive, recover, and gain control of their futures. Space is limited.

Space is limited, so the no-show policy will be enforced - cancellations must be done BEFORE November 8th or you may be charged a fee. Suit Yourself Professional Clothing Award


BSOS Undergraduates: Do you need professional attire for an internship, interview, or networking event happening this semester? If so, then consider applying for the The Feller Center's Suit Yourself Award!

The Suit Yourself Award supports BSOS students who need financial assistance in order to purchase professional clothing for an upcoming internship, interview, professional networking event, or professional conference. This is a $200 award to current BSOS undergraduate students. Note: Prior "Suit Yourself" awardees are not eligible for a stipend.

Summer 2024 BSOS Orientation Peer Advisors


 The Feller Center is seeking organized and dedicated undergraduate students to assist with the preparation and operation of New Student Orientation for Summer 2024.  Job responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with the Feller Center Orientation Coordinators to conduct new student orientation programs
  • Introducing UMD and BSOS policies to incoming students
  • Overseeing the BSOS Orientation ELMS
  • Preparing student files and records
Experience with Peer Mentoring, orientation, or BSOS programming is preferred but all students are encouraged to apply!

BSOS Strategic Plan Focus Groups

The College of Behavioral and Social Sciences (BSOS) is embarking on a strategic planning process, in alignment with and in support of the University’s strategic plan, Fearlessly Forward. Our new strategic plan will emphasize our unique strengths, define mission-aligned points of innovation and differentiation, and outline a clear vision and roadmap for meaningful action.

The BSOS Strategic Plan Steering Committee will be facilitating thematic focus groups to solicit ideas in the four preliminary areas of focus: 1) Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Social Justice, 2) Research and Scholarship, 3) Partnerships, and 4) Teaching, Learning, and Student Success. Each focus group will be led by members of the Steering Committee, will discuss only one priority area, will be conveniently accessible via Zoom and will be open to faculty, staff, and students within the College.
