BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

  • Provides effective customer service in responding to telephone calls, greeting visitors and attending to in-person inquiries
  • Provides procedural and case-related information pertaining to Bar docket, rehearing/rehearing en banc petitions, as well as making appropriate referrals to other staff.
  • Supports the Calendar Clerk by performing preparing and distributing letters to counsel, Makes weekly reminder calls to parties of upcoming arguments and updates scheduling changes in the absence of the Calendar Clerk
  • Electronically transmits motions and pleadings to the merits division and drafts and records appropriate orders
  • Reviews and records the votes of the Judges on petitions for rehearing/rehearing en banc. Refers cases to the Special Assistant to the Clerk of the Court where a vote requires a specific action
  • Supports all Judges’ chambers including by ordering and delivering supplies to the Judges’ chambers. Coordinates logistics for chambers moves and set-up, with judicial staff, Administrative Services Division (ASD), and Capital Projects.
  • Coordinates investiture and installation ceremonies and other special events and supports the on-boarding and exiting of judicial chambers staff
  • Coordinates out-of-state oaths

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR GRADE 6: A high school diploma plus two (2) years of administrative or clerical experience in an office environment, with the ability to communicate professionally both orally and in writing.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR GRADE 7: A high school diploma plus three (3) years of administrative or clerical experience in an office environment; or an Associate's degree plus at least one (1) year of administrative or clerical experience in an office environment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR GRADE 8: A high school diploma plus four (4) years of administrative or clerical experience in an office environment; or an Associate's degree plus two (2) years of administrative or clerical experience in an office environment; or a Bachelor's degree.
