Seminar - GWU Department of Forensic Sciences

The George Washington University, Mount Vernon Campus, is hosting Robert Ramotowski, Chief Research Scientist for the United States Secret Service Forensic Sciences Division, for a presentation titled "The Evolution of Latent Print Development Techniques" on November 4, 2011 at 4:10PM in Academic Building 301.

From the flyer: 

"This presentation will chronicle the discovery of the major techniques used for visualizing latent prints over the last century and a half.  Techniques such as powdering, iodine fuming, and silver nitrate were developed during the 19^th century.  Ninhydrin, physical developer, cyanoacrylate fuming, lasers, and vacuum metal deposition were introduced during the 20^th century.  What techniques or technologies are likely to be brought to the light in the 21^st century?  There have already been some interesting advances in the areas of upconversion and nano-particle technologies.  What more can we expect?"
