The Fraternal
Order of Police’s National Legislative Office is seeking an intern for the fall
semester. The intern will assist the NLO staff on a number of legislative and
fundraising tasks (see below). The ideal candidate will be available
approximately two (2) days per week and will be available to begin after Labor
Day.
Legislative
Tasks:
-research
current events and issues in the criminal justice field
-attend
Congressional hearings, briefings, press conferences, and other law enforcement
meetings
-preparation of
meeting materials
-track
Congressional votes and status of legislation
-assist with preparations
for member visits
-assist in
preparation of weekly member updates
-collect
information regarding law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty
-maintenance of
FOP’s social media accounts
PAC/ Fundraising
Tasks:
-assist in
maintenance of membership lists
-donor research
-assist in
fundraising activities
**Opportunities
to attend fundraisers and/or PAC events may arise.
