U.S. Marshals Internship - Fall 2018
The U.S. Marshals Service is currently seeking interns for the Fall 2018 semester. The internship program provides students interested in federal law enforcement an opportunity to obtain educational work experience and an understanding of the role of the U.S. Marshals Service in the justice system. This internship is located in Washington, D.C. at the E. Barrett Prettyman U.S. Courthouse located at 333 Constitution Avenue, NW, Suite 1500.
Duties:
- Preparing court schedules
- Organizing legal documents
- Learning about the many functions of the U.S. Marshal Service
- Communicating with Deputy U.S. Marshals along with court staff
- General clerical duties
Qualifications:
- Enrolled in an accredited college or university.
- Pursuing an undergraduate degree; preferred degree programs are criminal justice, criminology, political science, psychology, public administration, sociology, and social science.

Due to the sensitive nature of this position, if selected, the students will have to submit to a background check and submit fingerprints and should anticipate a minimum waiting time of several weeks before they would be cleared to begin. The USMS internship is a voluntary, unpaid program, designed to be flexible to work around existing employment and academic commitments. It is the student’s responsibility to complete all necessary procedures for receiving university or college credit for the internship.
