The African-American Studies Department cordially invites you to its African Studies Minor Kickoff Event. AASD is hosting a talk by Howard University Professor Jean-Michel Mabeko-Tali on Monday, November 18 at 6:00 PM in 2102 Shoemaker. There will be a short talk, discussion and Q and A session. Refreshments will be served.
This event will also introduce the new African Studies Minor. The African Studies Minor focuses on the history, culture, politics, and economics of the peoples who populate the continent of Africa. As an interdisciplinary field of study, the minor will provide students with an understanding of the historical and cultural contexts that have and continue to shape political, economic and social development in Africa.
