This position is responsible for investigating and generating reports on defendants to assist in court decisions. It includes but is not limited to the following:
- Interviews defendants by telephone and/or through home visits to assess potential next steps; determine defendants to be interviewed.
- Utilizes various databases to gather information on a defendant's criminal history, court proceedings, and/or any other court involvement; generates reports to assist courts in reaching a decision.
- Researches cases by reviewing appropriate paperwork, checking relevant history, and contacting relevant parties with questions/concerns.
- Maintains case records, interviews, and court documents by creating treatment progress reports, interview findings, investigation outlines, data entry of all reports
- Assist in determining risk, safety necessity of referral, progress, and/or counseling necessity for defendants using applicable tools and databases; determines if a drug/alcohol assessment or test is necessary or beneficial.
- Monitors daily activities to include: administering drug tests, utilizing electronic monitoring equipment, and recording daily enrollment counts.
- Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
