The IGNITE fellowship will enlist current college and graduate students to lead personalized virtual small group learning opportunities with students with the training and support of veteran educators this school year. This is a part-time, paid opportunity to build meaningful relationships with youth, accelerate student success and gain skills that propel your leadership forward. Fellows will receive a $1200 (pre-tax) award at the conclusion of their fellowship term. If you have additional questions you can contact rachel.mcgirt@teachforamerica.org regarding the fellowship.
- Fall Fellowship Dates: October 4-December 17, 2021, approximately 5 hours per week working virtually with youth.
- Application Deadline: Monday, September 6 by 11:59pm Pacific Standard Time.
- Eligibility: Current undergraduate and graduate students with a minimum 2.5 GPA (minimum HS GPA 3.0 for college freshmen). Ability to participate in onboarding and fellowship readiness prior to the start of the fellowship. Ability to work approximately 5 hours virtually per week during the school day between October 4-December 17. Evidence of fulfilling commitments and strong organizational skills. Must be eligible to work in the U.S.: U.S. citizens, national or legal permanent residents, or Deferred Action For Childhood Arrivals (DACA recipients). Prior experience with low-income communities is preferred but not required. Desire to work with students and have a positive effect on their learning experience. Interest in contributing to Teach For America’s mission.
