Camp PALS Volunteers - accepting applications for Summer 2021

PALS Programs, a nonprofit organization that provides one week long summer camp opportunities for teens and young adults with Down syndrome and their peers at 14 college campuses across the country, is currently accepting volunteer applications for Summer 2021 programs.

This spring and summer, PALS is fortunate to be in a pivotal position to host brand-new hybrid programs, and need volunteers to help serve our community. These programs will be made up of two in-person events on consecutive Saturdays “sandwiched” with virtual 1-hour Zoom calls each evening during the week. All volunteers will be paired 1-1 with a peer-aged partner with Down syndrome for all events. More information and a sample schedule can be found here.

PALS Washington DC will be held March 6 - 13th, with in person events held at Camp William B Snyder in Haymarket, VA on 3/6 and 3/13, and the virtual component of the program from 8:30-9:30 pm EST each night 3/8-3/12.

PALS provides an opportunity to gain experience with diverse populations, develop genuine friendships, and build leadership skills. This is an invaluable experience to become familiar with the disability community for those interested in law, service, and public policy. Gain real world experience to help change the world from a social justice lens! Check out this video to see why volunteers call PALS the best week of the year!

Openings for volunteers ages 16-30 are available at several programs this summer! Application can be submitted here, and questions can be directed to rosemary@palsprograms.org. There is no cost for volunteers at PALS - there are travel scholarships available for eligible individuals as well.
