DOJ Student Volunteer Intern - Office of International Affairs (Summer 2021)

The Department of Justice, Office of International Affairs (OIA) is seeking interns for the Summer 2021 semester. Accepted undergraduate interns will serve on the following OIA teams:

  • Cyber: Assists foreign authorities to secure electronic evidence from U.S.-based electronic service providers in support of criminal investigations and prosecutions.
  • Incoming Mutual Legal Assistance: Assists foreign authorities to secure non-electronic evidence (records, interviews, testimony, etc.) in support of criminal investigations and prosecutions.
  • International Prisoner Transfer: Administers the program that allows convicted foreign nationals sentenced in the U.S. and Americans sentenced abroad to transfer to their home country to serve their sentence provided statutory and treaty requirements are satisfied.
  • Regional Teams: Assists U.S. prosecutors in securing the return of fugitives from the regions below to face justice in the U.S., and coordinates with foreign authorities to share evidence with U.S. prosecutors for use in criminal investigations and prosecutions. Also assists foreign authorities in securing the extradition of fugitives from the U.S.
