Chesterfield County Police Department is Hiring


The Chesterfield County Police Department is currently accepting applications for the July 2015 police academy.  We are holding a special test session on November 14, 2014 at 7:00 AM at our academy located at 6610 Public Safety Way, Chesterfield, VA 23832.  Pre-registration is not required for this test.  Interested parties need to come dressed for the physical fitness test and must also be prepared to take the written exam.   Prior to testing, a handwritten application will be completed.  This is the last scheduled test date for the July 2015 academy.  Please visit our website at www.chesterfieldpd.com<http://www.chesterfieldpd.com> to view our qualifications and the test standards.

Chesterfield County is located in central Virginia and adjoins the City of Richmond. We are a progressive and professional department offering paid training, permanent shifts and career development. Benefits include tuition reimbursement, health/dental insurance and a take home vehicle. We also offer paid retirement and a GI Bill approved academy. The initial training consists of a 32 week, non-residential academy and 2 month field training period.  The department is a full service agency with 21 specialized units including SWAT, K-9 and Investigations. Officers are eligible to join specialized units two years after field training.
