The next BSOS Dean's Student Advisory Council's next Brown-Bag
Event is Wednesday, November 5 with CCJS professor Dr. Laure
Brooks. If you're interested in learning about various aspects of policing,
this is the event for you!
Dr. Brooks is an instructor and the Director of
Undergraduate Studies in the University of Maryland’s Department of Criminology
and Criminal Justice. She currently teaches both CCJS 300 (Research Methods) and CCJS 340 (Policing). Her
research has focused on police discretion, police stress and violence against
police. Dr. Brooks has written several publications and her most recent
publishes include the latest edition of “Police Discretionary Behavior: A Study
of Style” and “Police Recruitment and Selection.”
