Fall 2020 courses are offered face-to-face, blended, or online. Here is a breakdown of how to read the Schedule of Classes and find out the method in which your classes are meeting.
Face-to-Face
- The class meets in person, in a classroom, for all class meetings
- The course appears on Testudo as normal with listed: days, times, and location (eg. MW 2:00 PM – 3:15 PM ESJ 0224)
- Note: CCJS is not offering any solely face-to-face classes for Fall 2020
Blended Learning
- The class meets both face-to-face and online
- Students are expected to regularly attend class both face-to-face and online on the days/times indicated in the Schedule of Classes
- These courses appear on Testudo with a notation of “Blended Learning” when you open the sections
- The courses will have “Class time/details on ELMS," "ONLINE,” along with days, time, and location (eg. MW 2:00 PM – 3:15 PM ESJ 0224)
- Note: CCJS 320 is the only blending learning course CCJS is offering in Fall 2020
Example CCJS320:
Online
- The class meets online in one of three ways: synchronously, asynchronously, or a combination of both
- The courses appear on Testudo with “Online” at the top of the sections
Synchronous: Synchronous instruction is provided in real-time, where the class meets online at specified times. Students are expected to be online at the specified time. On Testudo classes will be listed with a specific time (eg. MW 2:00 PM – 3: 15 PM) but have “ONLINE” listed to the right.
Example CCJS360 (0101):
Asynchronous: The class does NOT meet in real-time, but the instructor will provide students with online content to review usually within a given timeframe. On Testudo asynchronous classes are listed “Class time/details on ELMS" and has "ONLINE" listed to the right.
Example CCJS340 (0101):
Combination: Some portions of the course are provided synchronously, and other portions are provided asynchronously. Specific meeting dates/times for the synchronous portion of the course are indicated in the section portion of the course listing.
