 Metro Transit Police is Hiring!


In 1976, Congress authorized the establishment of the Metro Transit Police Department (MTPD). MTPD police officers have tri-state jurisdiction with responsibility for a variety of law enforcement and public safety functions in transit facilities throughout the Washington, DC Metropolitan area.

MTPD has an authorized strength of 468 sworn police officers, 140 security special police, and 101 civilian personnel. Officers provide a variety of law enforcement and public safety services on the Metrorail and Metrobus systems in the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Area.

MTPD police officers have jurisdiction and arrest powers throughout the 1,500 square mile transit zone that includes Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia for crimes that occur in or against Transit Authority facilities. It is the only tri-jurisdictional police agency in the country and serves a population of 3.2 million.

Job Summary

Intelligence Analysis has the power to influence world affairs. The Intelligence Analysis mission encourages both independent and collaborative partnering (both within NSA and with other analysts in the Intelligence Community) while seeking creative solutions to analytical questions. Your skills in research, analysis, reporting, planning, and advising will ensure senior leaders are provided with time-sensitive cryptologic support for strategic and operational level planning across the full range of DoD and U.S. Government operations for integrated information and cyberspace operations. This wide array of skills helps protect U.S. government information systems and provides the most complete possible foreign signals intelligence picture to U.S. policy makers and military commanders. 

Qualifications

Entry is with a high school diploma or GED plus 4 years of relevant experience, or an Associate's degree plus 2 years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor's degree and no experience. Degree in a liberal arts field (e.g., English, History, Communications, Languages and Cultures, International Relations, and Political Science) is preferred, but a degree in any field is acceptable. 

Additional Requirements:
  • You are a U.S. citizen.
  • You have never been dishonorably discharged from the Armed Forces.
  • You have not served in the Peace Corps in the last 4 years.
  • You are currently over the age of 15.
  • You have never been convicted of a crime for which you were imprisoned for a term of more than a year.
  • You have not used illegal drugs within the last year, to include the misuse of prescription drugs or any other legal substances, with the intent to induce or achieve a recreational high.

Juvenile Justice Internship w/ Child Trends


Child Trends' Youth Development program area is seeking an undergraduate-level intern to support research and evaluation projects primarily focused on juvenile justice system transformation. Research studies in this area place special emphasis on racial and ethnic equity, positive youth development, community engagement, and the translation of research to practice and policy. The position will be remote and offer up to 20 hours per week. This is also a paid position.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Helping engage community members and other key partners in the interpretation of study findings from policy, program, or community perspectives.
  • Assisting more senior researchers by locating, retrieving, reading, and/or summarizing articles for literature reviews.
  • Completing fact and citation checks on journal articles, research reports, website content, and other publications.
  • Drafting sections of research briefs, reports, or other publications.
  • Preparing materials for data collection
  • Supporting recruitment, consent, and follow up with study participants.
  • Assisting with conducting virtual focus groups or interviews.
  • Tabling statistical output results (e.g., SAS or STATA) in Excel.
  • Assisting with routine meeting logistics, taking detailed notes, organizing project files, and tracking important project deadlines.
  • Supporting Child Trends’ best-place-to-work environment and commitment to racial and ethnic equity.

Verizon Security Intelligence Internship Summer 2022 - Remote

Verizon is currently seeking applications for their Summer 2022 Security Intelligence Internship. This 10 week internship position is full-time, remote, and paid.

Intern duties:

  • Identify accurate, reliable, and timely global security intelligence data using open source intelligence (OSINT), partner information, company information, and other research methods to support decision making process.

Investigative Analyst position w/ Madison Associates, Inc

Madison Associates Inc. (MAI) is seeking a qualified candidate for an Investigative Analyst position in the Rockville, MD area. MAI is a law enforcement professional services firm which provides technical advice and assistance to governments, enforcement agencies, and private companies in the areas of forensic accounting, financial crime, money laundering, corruption, asset forfeiture and business monitoring.

As an Investigative Analyst, the selected candidate will be responsible for cataloging evidence, maintaining chain of custody, converting paper and electronic documents into digital searchable images, reviewing evidence, creating encrypted media converting financial statements to spreadsheets, and data entry.  Other duties could include analyzing financial documents or communications in a visual data analytic tool.  Candidates should b able to work in a team atmosphere and communicate effectively with team members and law enforcement officials.

The candidate should also be proficient with Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and other Microsoft products. Knowledge of government databases is preferable.  Must be a U.S. Citizen and eligible to receive a Security Clearance.

The FBI’s Collegiate Hiring Initiative (CHI) recruits graduating seniors, graduates and post-graduates pursuing PhD degrees to begin their careers in a hands-on, supportive team environment. For the 2022 Collegiate Hiring Initiative, students must graduate by June 2022. For Veterans, eligibility is within six years of the program date (June 2016 – June 2022). Be sure to research the eligibility requirements now before you begin your application.

The Honors Internship Program (HIP) is a 10-week, paid internship for college undergraduate and graduate students.
