Montgomery County is currently accepting applications for An Urban District Public Service Aide in Wheaton, MD. Urban District Public Service Aide position(s) is a full-time,
permanent position with benefits. Employee provides a visible,
uniformed, and welcoming presence on the sidewalks of the Wheaton Urban
Business District and offers aide by providing routine information to
visitors and business people and/or offering buddy escort to and from
parked vehicles. The information provided is limited and specific, i.e.,
date, time, location of local events and coming attractions; directions
to business, shopping, entertainment locations; location of
parking/transit services. The work requires good communication and
customer service skills and motivation to make a difference in the
Wheaton community.
Employee will be expected to carry out duties outdoors in varying weather conditions. The position requires frequent periods of walking and standing. This is a position of public trust which requires a criminal background investigation. Additionally a physical (including drug and alcohol screen) is required.
Sunday through Wednesday (Sunday 10am to 8:30pm); Mon-Wed (1pm to 11:30pm); or, Wednesday through Saturday (1pm to 11:30pm).
Employee will be assigned to work one of the following shifts:
Occasional overtime, week-end, and holiday work hours are required.
