Assistant Program Officer – Anti-Corruption and Governance Center (ACGC)
Time frame:
All interns are expected to start by June 15, 2019 and commit a minimum of 20 and maximum of 40 hours per week. This position is unpaid; a transportation stipend is provided.
Learning Objectives:
- Acquire knowledge in international relations and democracy promotion
- Develop analytical skills by reviewing anti-corruption compliance materials
- Develop marketing and social media expertise through the curation of CC Trends blog
- Improve research skills by conducting a variety of research tasks related to global anti-corruption trends
- Develop public relations skillset by coordinating with preeminent NGOs, think tanks, and business associations across the globe
- Develop knowledge of anti-corruption principles and global trends in anti-corruption
- Work with the Center’s director and program officer to develop a strategic plan for enhancing the Center’s public engagement
Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Curate and support CC Trends blog
- Conduct various research tasks for the Center focusing on worldwide anti-corruption trends
- Write blogs, and provide proofreading support for CC Trends blog and other outward facing research reports and written articles
- Coordinate with the Center’s director and program officer to support the Center’s public outreach strategy
- Research various organizations for speaking and panel opportunities to determine if taking part will benefit CIPE and the Center
- Engage various organizations to ensure a role for Center staff at the various events, either as a speaker or moderator
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Strong research, analytical, and writing skills
- Ability to consolidate and synthesize large amounts of information and present in an organized and concise way
- Basic understanding of corporate anti-corruption compliance requirements and international standards
- Strong writing, grammar, and proofreading skills
- Solid understanding of blogs, Twitter, and other forms of social media
- Comfortable engaging various organizations and high-level organizational officials
- Strong attention to detail
