Job Description
As an Investigative Student Trainee (Intern) in the
Department of Education Office of Inspector General, the incumbent will learn about
the tasks related to gathering, acquiring, and developing resource materials
and other information in support of law enforcement activities to achieve the
mission of the organization.
Duties & Responsibilities- Assist assigned staff to compile reports on research conducted and updating administrative records.
- Use software applications such as spreadsheets, database inquiries, word processing and desktop publishing.
- Develop profiles, criminal history and current location of subjects using state and federal records along with commercial databases.
- Prepare written and statistical reports for use in investigations.
- Assist Special Agents with case work, to include assisting with interviews and document reviews.
- Learn about the day to day operations of a federal law enforcement office and federal government employment.
