Terp Young Scholars is one of the highest paying opportunities on campus and student Mentors have a tremendous impact on the high school students.
The mentor application for Terp Young Scholars in Summer 2024 is now open (here!) and we’re excited to share some updates:
- In summer 2024, we’re increasing the pay for TYS mentors to a record-high stipend of $2,540 (for in-person mentors). This is based on a rate of $20/hour.
- The hours for TYS have been adjusted so that most mentor days (except for check-in) will start at 9:30 and end by 4:30 (and 2:00 pm on certain Fridays!).
- This summer, we’re asking Mentors to plan activities based on their interests, hobbies and extracurricular activities. Love to crochet, juggle, play soccer or…..? Terp Young Scholars will provide support for Mentors to share this interest with our prospective Terps!
- Mentors will also be able to specify if they’d like to work with students in a particular course so send your most passionate undergraduates our way.
Prospective Mentors are encouraged to attend an information session to learn more about the program and ask questions. Students must register for an information session to receive a Zoom link.
Info. sessions will take place on the following dates:
· Thursday, January 25, 2024 from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
· Monday, January 29, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
