Students enrolled at the University of Maryland, College Park who are between 18 and 25 years of age (inclusive) and who drive at least once a month are invited to participate in a research study on drowsy driving.
Participating in this study involves taking about 20-25 minutes of your time to watch a short video and a recorded slide presentation with audio in English and to complete a short online questionnaire about yourself and your perceptions, thoughts, and experiences related to drowsy driving.
By completing the questionnaire, you will become eligible to participate in a raffle to win one of thirty $50 electronic Gift Cards from your choice of Amazon, Apple, or Starbucks.
Although you will not benefit directly from participating in this study, your participation may help enhance general understanding of the impact of different messaging strategies aimed at preventing drowsy driving in young adults. This knowledge could be used in the future to develop more effective interventions against drowsy driving in young adults, who are particularly vulnerable to the health and safety hazards associated with drowsy driving behavior.
Unfortunately, you are not eligible to participate in this study: (1) if you have a visual or hearing disability; or (2) if you cannot read, understand, or communicate in the English language.
