Harford Mutual Insurance Group is seeking a Special Investigative Unit Intern to support the SIU team during summer 2023 at their home office in Bel Air, MD. This position is for individuals currently enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing career opportunities in Criminal Justice or related field.
Essential Duties
- Conduct data mining and fraud related analysis using predictive models, internal reports, data bases and available information
- Develop and deliver comprehensive reports based on investigative findings
- Assist in planning, development and design of SIU reporting, work product and documentation
- Work with all departments for opportunities to assist with analytics, records review, social media, and data base searches
- Coordinate and aid any state and federal agencies as well as NICB and insurance related departments
- Assist with any vendors, report, and video production, editing and social media content
- Gain understanding of surveillance and field operations- investigative activities
Educational/Training Requirement:
- Must be a full-time undergraduate student pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice, or related field.

- Strong collaborating skills and an ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to recognize, analyze and work to solve a variety of problems while meeting multiple deadlines
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and oral communications skills
