Breaking Chains: Reforming Juvenile Incarceration
November 30, 2023
4pm-6pm
Location: STAMP Juan Ramon Jimenez Room 2208
Join Justice Reform UMD on Thursday, November 30th as we discuss juvenile incarceration in the state of Maryland! We are one of UMD's only clubs focused on creating change within the criminal justice system and have been working on a proposal for the Maryland General Assembly on the reallocation of funds away from juvenile detention centers. During the event we will discuss our proposal more in depth and also provide a link to a petition for attendees to sign.
We have a panel of speakers joining us from The Sentencing Project, The Choice Program at UMBC, and a Doctoral Candidate from UMD's Criminology Program. The event will be this Thursday, November 30th from 4-6 pm in STAMP Juan Ramon Jimenez Room 2208. All students, faculty, and staff are welcome to attend!
