SALARY: The salary range for this position is $43,675.04 to $82,662.99 for Schedule A, and $43,675.04 to $74,001.96 for Schedule B. For newly hired individuals, the starting salary will normally be at the minimum of the salary range. For current Judiciary employees, salary upon promotion or advancement will be an increase of 5% of base salary, not to exceed the maximum of the range, or the minimum salary of the band/level, whichever is greater. Judiciary employees hired prior to August 20, 2014, are considered Schedule A. Newly hired individuals, and Judiciary employees hired on or after August 20, 2014, are considered Schedule B.

The Probation Division in Vicinage 13 is seeking an individual with strong customer service, self-management, interpersonal and oral communication skills to work as an Investigator. Under the general direction of the Division Manager, Assistant Division Manager and other supervisory personnel, the incumbent will apply their strong attention to detail and technology application skills to perform a variety of investigatory work for court services.
The selected individual will be responsible for:
- Monitoring a caseload of approximately 700 active child support cases.
- Prioritizing cases and resolve case issues dealing with the collection and disbursement of court ordered child support, spousal support, and alimony, terminations and emancipations, and credits and income withholdings.
- Conferring with other divisions and State Agencies to resolve complicated issues.
- Generating appropriate and correct financial notes to both the local Finance division and State Disbursement Unit.
- Responding to client inquiries and walk-in customers.
- Advising judges on case issues.
- Referring cases for enforcement actions.
- Collecting court-ordered payments.
- Analyzing cases in accordance with existing laws, regulations, or professional practices.
- Perform other related duties.
REMOTE WORK: The Judiciary currently offers a hybrid work schedule, and this position may qualify for up to 2 days of remote work outside of Judiciary buildings. To participate in this program, you will be required to have high speed home internet access.
Qualifications
Two years of paraprofessional experience in casework involving the collection of facts, securing and verifying socioeconomic data, obtaining information by observing conditions, examining records, interviewing individuals, and/or preparing investigative reports of findings.
Substitution: Applicants may substitute semester hour credits from an accredited college or university for the required experience on a year-for-year basis with 30 semester hour credits being equal to one year of experience.
