The League of Women Voters of Prince George’s County (LWVPGC) Maryland is a nonpartisan political organization which encourages the participation of citizens in government. This award is in memory of Thelma Boyd–Nash and in memory of Dorothy Ginter, both teachers and pioneers in the League of Women Voters of Prince George’s County, Maryland.
This organization seeks to build women and men leaders who are committed to service in their personal, school, and community lives by awarding two (2) $1,000 college scholarships and two (2) one-year memberships in the LWVPGC. The two winners will be announced at the annual meeting in the Spring of 2024 for the Fall 2024 semester.
This award is given to applicants who are residents of Prince George’s County, Maryland, and attending either Bowie State University, Prince George’s Community College, or the University of Maryland in Prince George’s County. All applications must be signed and postmarked by April 30, 2024. Here is a link to the scholarship application.
