We work at the intersection of criminal justice, public health, and racial justice to elevate healing and safety over retribution, advance racial equity, and meet the needs of survivors.

About this role: We are seeking two energetic, adaptable, and creative relationship builders with strong group facilitation and strategic organizing skills to support our Restorative Justice Team. These positions will work closely with our Senior Training Manager and Senior Strategist to facilitate virtual and in-person trainings, support the development and sustainability of restorative justice diversion (RJD) programs, and summarize broad field research into digestible learnings for community partners. This is an excellent opportunity to hone your training and research skills as part of a dynamic team that is working to promote a collaborative, inclusive, healing-centered, and effective community culture. The ideal candidate will have experience and comfort working closely with community-based organizations, community members, and criminal legal system partners.

Responsibilities:
Workshop Co-facilitation
  • Manage user engagement and resource organizing in Teachable
  • Support virtual learning spaces using Zoom and shared learning management system tools such as Teachable
Training Support and Facilitation
  • Communicate with multiple organizations to coordinate pre-training needs assessment and logistical planning
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on creating agendas and manuals for trainings
  • Assistance with day-of set up including organizing the space, setting up materials, and audio/visual needs
  • Provide one-on-one support to Restorative Justice Diversion (RJD) Cohort to address any specific program design challenges and RJD Collaborative to address specific site challenges such as supporting case referrals, staffing support, and case troubleshooting
  • Send out post-training evaluations and feedback to training participants and stakeholders
  • Conduct analyses on post-training feedback and outline recommendations for future trainings
  • Co-facilitate training content for community and system partners
Research and Curriculum Development
  • Research the needs and objectives of past sites and cohort sites engaged in program development
  • Research and implement resources to bolster RJD collaborative spaces
  • Staying connected to the field at large and engaged in other restorative justice gatherings
  • Develop engaging and effective learning techniques, including lessons, projects, and assessments, utilizing trauma-informed and somatic principles
  • Organize content in a logical and effective way
Organizing and Partner Engagement
  • Support the various organizing needs of RJD site partners including coalition building, advocacy strategies, and community activation
  • Provide thought partnership and rapid response for time-sensitive requests to support RJD partners
  • Strengthen local RJD programs by providing ongoing coaching, training, and support to increase their recruitment, visibility, and integration with other local efforts
  • Identify and participate in meetings and events that foster relationships with members of the survivor community, formerly incarcerated/justice-involved community, the legal community, faith leaders, legislators, and other community leaders to help advance the implementation and investment in restorative justice across the country
