Join the Fairfax County Police Department’s Major Crimes Bureau as a Victim Services Specialist. This critical role reports directly to the Director of Victim Services and will be based at one of the eight district police stations or the Fairfax County Public Safety Headquarters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive support and services to victims of violent crimes.
  • Offer crisis counseling and assistance in a law enforcement setting to victims and their families.
  • Deliver emotional, physical, financial, and practical support.
  • Facilitate access to the criminal justice system and related support agencies.
  • Respond to crime scenes, including during evenings, weekends, and holidays, to provide crisis intervention and follow-up resources.
  • Offer information and support related to the criminal justice process.
  • Maintain consistent communication with victims and witnesses throughout investigations, prosecutions, and judicial proceedings.
  • Develop and sustain a thorough understanding of community resources.
