Winter/Spring Registration Reminders

Winter Registration
Winter registration begins Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at 7:30 AM for ALL students.  Winter is a great opportunity for students to get ahead in their requirements and/or take smaller, more discussion-based courses.  Registration for the winter session is completed through Testudo.   Winter term begins Wednesday, January 2, 2013 and ends Wednesday, January 23, 2013.  All students are limited to enrolling in one course during winter term.  For more information on the winter term including billing, registration, requirements and deadlines, please visit the winter term website at: winter.umd.edu.  A full list of winter term courses are available on Testudo.

Please note: CCJS 300 is an extremely popular winter course.  If you need to register for CCJS 300 over the winter, we advise students register as soon as possible.

Spring Registration
Spring registration begins on Thursday, October 25, 2012 for special populations.  Registration for seniors begins Monday, October 29, 2012.  Registration dates and times are set by credit level, with higher credit levels registering first.  Students can view their individual registration date and time through the MY UMD portal at  http://my.umd.edu

Please keep the following information in mind:
·         All CCJS courses (except CCJS 100 and CCJS 105) require a departmental permission/stamp.  To obtain permission/stamp to register for a CCJS course, please visit the departmental stamps website:   www.ccjsstamps.umd.edu . The CCJS Department highly recommends students obtain their departmental stamps well in advance of their registration appointment.
·         Students are allowed permission for up to 3 CCJS courses.  The exceptions to this rule are CCJS 332,  internship credit, and teaching assistant credit.  On the first day of class (January 23, 2013), students may obtain permission for a fourth or more CCJS course.
·         CCJS 498C is a course reserved for students in the campus police auxiliary. If you are in police auxiliary, simply have your supervisor contact Nicole Jackson in CCJS Advising so that you may receive permission to take this course.
·         Know your registration date/time and register as soon as possible.
·         BSOS College does not allow oversubscriptions.  If a class is full, please add yourself to the waitlist.
·         Clear any registration blocks as soon as possible.  Common registration blocks include: financial block (Bursars Office), vaccination block (Health Center), academic plan (BSOS Advising), audit (both CCJS and BSOS Advising), and fundamental studies block (you must register in person at the Mitchell Building).
