The White House Office of Presidential Correspondence Associate Program: Employer Networking Sessions

The Office of Presidential Correspondence (OPC) is currently accepting applications for the fall 2013 Associate Program. OPC Associates gain professional experience, while also getting unique insight into the Executive Office of the President. Every day, OPC responds to the thousands of letters, e-mails, and phone calls President Obama receives. Associates are assigned to one of the departments in OPC and work alongside staff to help President Obama maintain a dialogue with the American people. OPC Associates serve a minimum of 30 hours per week in the Office of Presidential Correspondence. The fall 2013 program is scheduled from September 3, 2013 to December 13, 2013. Applications are due May 5th 2013. Appropriate Attire: Minimum attire for ALL sessions with employers present is business casual unless otherwise specified. As an entry-level Police Officer with the Metropolitan Police Department, you will perform the vital public services of preserving the peace, protecting life and property, preventing crime, apprehending criminals, and enforcing the laws and ordinances of the District of Columbia and the United States.

HOURS PER WEEK
40 (some overtime required)

QUALIFICATIONS
-Be at least 21 years of age
-Be a citizen of the United States
-Have completed at least 60 semester hours of college credits; or 3 years of active duty military service; or 5 years of prior law enforcement experience
-Possess an honorable military discharge (if applicable)
-Possess a valid driver’s license

Police Officer candidates must successfully pass a written examination, a physical ability test, and a thorough background investigation that includes a medical examination, drug screening, psychological evaluation, and polygraph examination.
