Our administrative legal assistants provide clerical support to
our attorneys through the litigation process by gathering, reviewing, and
organizing case materials. They are responsible for ensuring that all discovery
materials, pleadings, and correspondence are kept up-to-date and are readily
accessible by all legal staff and attorneys. In preparing case files, they will
investigate and identify the issues and facts of each case for depositions,
motions and/or trials and will assist the attorneys in creating court room
exhibits and case summary memorandums. They are also expected to regularly file
motions and petitions in court and, at times, to the Judge’s chambers. With
regard to the marketing aspect of this internship, they will help compile and
mail out paper advertisements to prospective clients. They may also be
responsible for drafting website contact and monitoring the website for quality
control. Finally, our administrative legal assistants may handle phone calls
from clients, opposing counsel, or the courts if the need arises.
The law firm has three offices located in Rockville, Greenbelt
& Frederick. The main office and mailing address is 27 Wood Lane 2nd Floor,
Rockville, MD 20850, which located near the courthouse and within walking
distance of the Metro rail subway and public transportation in downtown
historic Rockville, just two blocks from the Town Center and the Montgomery
County District and Circuit Courts. The Rockville Office is also located three

Flexible weekday and weekend hours are available to accommodate school and work
schedules.
QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must be motivated and interested in obtaining practical
legal experience in pre-trial preparation, case management and trial work.
Applicants must have excellent writing and verbal commutation skills. Fluency
in Spanish preferred but not required. Word processing / computer skills required.

Montgomery County Police Citizen Academy
The Montgomery County Police
Department is currently accepting applications for future sessions of the
Citizen Academy. The program is free, but participants must be 18 years of age
or older and either live or work in Montgomery County.
Participants who are selected for
the program are required to attend 14 of the 18 classes to be eligible for
graduation. Some of the topics covered include: firearm safety, Maryland
traffic law, investigating major crimes, drug identification, scams and fraud,
prostitution, forensics/crime lab, physical/sexual child abuse, a canine
demonstration, DUI/underage drinking, and the procedures of the Emergency
Response Team. Academy members also have the option of touring the Montgomery
County Detention Center and participating in a ride-along with a police
officer.
Each year two sessions (spring and
fall) of the Citizen Academy are held at the Public Safety Training Academy
located at 9710 Great Seneca Highway in Rockville. Classes are offered on
Tuesday evenings from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. for 18 consecutive weeks. The 2013
spring session of the Citizen Academy is scheduled to begin in March.
