Volunteer with The Peace Project in Nicaragua

Looking to improve your Spanish, simplify your life, and help some kids? Volunteer with The Peace Project in Nicaragua (founded by 3 UMD alumni)!

The Peace Project works with the youth of Laguna de Apoyo to:
1. Provide English language instruction and reinforcing the local educational efforts to expand future job opportunities.
2. Create a culture of peaceful conflict resolution and positive communication.
3. Develop a greater awareness and open-mindedness of new ideas and cultures.

We're looking for self-motivated, independent volunteers to work with us in the small rural community of Laguna de Apoyo. Volunteers create their own schedules, but have worked as camp counselors, tutors, and teaching assistants. They can also design their own side projects from creating promotional videos to designing public health workshops.

Also, we live in a volcanic crate next to a beautiful lake and it's 80 degrees every day!

More information on the project and how to apply can be found on the website: thepeaceprojectnicaragua.org. Or get a better sense of what we do by watching the video that our volunteers made!
Please contact thepeaceprojectnicaragua@gmail.com with questions.
