This position is located at Office of the Inspector General for Tax Admin, Office of Investigations- Deputy Inspector General for Investigations. As an Investigative Analyst, you will perform work involving the research, analysis, and/or evaluation of information to assist investigators in ongoing investigations.
The following are the duties of this position at the GS-13. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.
- Analyze information to develop profile data on the activities, trends, developments, and procedures.
- Maintain knowledge of Federal laws and regulations relevant to the work being performed.
- Participate in intelligence collection programs and procedures, plans, and develops computerized intelligence databases, and recommends modifications to existing systems.
- Participate in the development and effective use of techniques and procedures to be utilized by TIGTA with the ultimate objective of producing and disseminating investigative/intelligence reports to assist in investigations conducted by law enforcement personnel within TIGTA.
- Perform analytic tasks of a high level of difficulty. Applies a comprehensive knowledge of all available automated data retrieval systems to locate, sort and evaluate information.
