Police Officers ensure compliance with Federal laws and Agency rules and regulations pertaining to law enforcement, anti-terrorism/force protection, and security work. They maintain law and order; protect civil rights; carry a variety of firearms including less-lethal weapons; aid in emergency situations; investigate criminal activity and misconduct; and safeguard personnel and assets.

The Office of Protective Services is a 24x7 operation. Police Officers are required to work nights, weekends, holidays, overtime, and are subject to recall on a 24-hour basis. Police Officer candidates must be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions, and under strenuous and potentially dangerous conditions.
Police Offices are required to sign a Continued Service Agreement requiring completion of 3 years' service with the Office of Protective Services. Officers that leave the DoD, NGA, or the IC prior to completing the 3-year period of service may be required to reimburse the Agency for tuition and travel costs associated with required training.
