Duties

This position is located within the Office of the Chief Administrative Officer, Office of Administrative Services, Safety and Security Division. This rewarding opportunity is the ideal next career step for you if:

  • You're committed to conducting complex administrative investigations and/or inquiries as assigned.
  • You have the ability to recommend and implement countermeasures to protect USPTO personnel and property and at times, employs surveillance equipment in support of these investigations.
  • You can serve as the USPTO liaison with federal investigative and law enforcement agencies; i.e., U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Federal Protective Service, and the U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC) Inspector General's Office and/or as an Agency Technical Representative (ATR) provides support in ensuring that Protective Security Officers (Guard Force) at all USPTO owned or operated facilities have been trained and can operate the access control,
  • You have experience with CCTV and other peripheral equipment, x-ray machines, metal detectors, hand wands and any other special equipment issued.
  • You have the ability to serve in a vital role in the HSPD-12 process as a role holder processing HSPD-12 card and adjudicating results of the fingerprints and upon favorable adjudication issues the required HSPD-12 credential.
  • You have the ability to respond to emergencies and incidents in agency facilities as required and can participate with federal and civil law enforcement agencies, contract and proprietary guard forces, and other security personnel during such emergencies and incidents.

The physical worksite for this position is located in Alexandria, VA.

  • TELEWORK: This position is eligible for maximum telework eligible per agency and business unit discretion/policy.
  • The duty station is the authorized telework location (typically your home address) and locality pay is adjusted appropriately.
