The IRB approved study (IRB# 2120371) aims to examine the career and educational experiences and aspirations of Black returning citizens. Participants are asked to complete a brief interest survey and if selected, they will be asked to participate in a 90-minute online interview with a member of our research team. Participants who complete the online interview will be compensated with a $100 prepaid debit card as a token of appreciation. Individuals may be eligible to participate in this study if they meet the following criteria:
- Are 18 years of age or older
- Identify as Black/African American man
- Currently resides in the D.C., Maryland, or Virginia (DMV) area
- Have previously had contact with the criminal-legal system (e.g., have previously been arrested, spent time in jail or prison, previously or currently on probation/parole, etc.)
- Provide permission to be audio-recorded.
