Job Duties

• Coordinate between Northern Virginia agencies and community-based organizations/non-profits to meet the OAG goals
• Act as OAG liaison between Northern Virginia sheriff’s offices and police administration, city administration, Commonwealth’s Attorney administration, and U.S. Attorney’s Office to ensure smooth progress of OAG goals
• Meet with community and city leaders to determine needs and opportunities to address issues of public safety, victims’ rights and violence in the community
• Utilize “Virginia Rules” curriculum to educate community on gang and gun violence, assist with Virginia Rules law enforcement camps within assigned region.

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge of criminal justice system and other specialty areas developed through academic training, seminars, and experience.
• Knowledge of violence prevention programs and models.
• Knowledge of criminal justice procedures.
• Knowledge of the practices and procedures of the Office of the Attorney General
• Knowledge of minority community culture and customs
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to use judgment, tact and discretion.
• Ability to quickly assimilate oral and written data, to analyze facts, and draw logical conclusions.
• Ability to provide direction to other team members
• Ability to maintain records, and prepare reports and correspondence related to the work.
• Ability to identify and analyze issues and problems in management and human relations and to recommend and implement solutions.
• Ability to organize work, establish priorities, and maintain good interpersonal relations and communications with other staff as well as effective working relationships with government officials, vendors and the general public.
• Ability to maintain favorable public relations.
• Supervisory and leadership skills
• Skills of persuasion and consensus building
• Computer literacy to include proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Worldox
