The incumbent of this position pulls, sorts, and refiles case files. Pulls mail for Clerk's departments. Enters files in File tracking to keep an accurate record of location of file. Assists the public, attorneys, and court personnel at the counter by finding files and providing information. Retrieves, unloads, sorts, and distributes mail.
Education: High school diploma (or GED equivalent).
Experience: Six (6) months of work experience.
Note:
A Bachelor's Degree may substitute the required work experience.
A Paralegal/Associate Degree or 60 college credits may substitute the required work experience.
A Paralegal Certificate may substitute the required work experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of general office practices and procedures
Knowledge of public access rules
Knowledge of case file numeric systems
Knowledge of applicable Court Records, Retention and Storage Manual
Skill in basic math
Skill in using a personal computer.
Skill in organization and time management.
Ability to set priorities and simultaneously process multiple duties and responsibilities.
Ability to learn and apply relevant terminology and procedures to reach a valid conclusion.
Ability to read and comprehend.
Ability to follow directions Ability to communicate in effective, patient and tactful manner with judges, co-workers, and the public.
