The Beast Side: Living and Dying While Black in America
Author Presentation and Book Signing with D. Watkins
Wednesday, April 20th from 4:00-6:00 PM

Join the Association of Graduate Students in Public Health (GSPH) for a talk and discussion with D. Watkins, author of "The Beast Side: Living and Dying While Black in America". From 4:00-5:00 PM, D. will speak on his book, which is a collection of short essays on his upbringing in Baltimore, MD and his views on race and community in our country. From 5:00-6:00 PM, stick around to discuss what you've heard with other attendees as D. signs copies of his book. 

The UMD bookstore will be selling "The Beast Side" during the event, and light refreshments will be served. Doors open at 3:45 PM, and all UMD undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, and staff are invited to attend.
