For all interested in tutoring or teaching in prison, please join us at the “Meet the Petey Greene Program” event advertised below. The Petey Greene Program is a nationally innovative and highly respected prison education non-profit organization. It has a student chapter here at UMD, with a remarkable history of leadership; it has for many years blazed the trail in providing tutoring and teaching opportunities for volunteers serving juvenile and adult learners in incarcerated spaces; and it is currently partnering with UMD faculty in a number of prison education endeavors.
Come meet national leaders from the Petey Greene Program! Meet also student and faculty members involved with them, and a distinguished guest who is an educational partner at the D.C. Jail overseeing Petey Greene and UMD programming. Find out how you can get involved with PGP and in UMD’s educational justice community!
This event is an in-person event on Thursday, October 20th, from 4-5:15pm; please make sure to RSVP by scanning the QR code in the flyer below or filling out the RSVP form. For more information, please contact Peter Mallios or Elizabeth Catchmark (email addresses below) of the Maryland Prison English Initiative.
