STICs - Student Initiated Courses - is an organization on campus dedicated to providing undergraduate or graduate students with the opportunity to create and administer a 1 credit class on a topic of their choosing. It is an excellent opportunity for students to share their passion for a topic with their peers, develop leadership and public speaking skills, and give other students the opportunity to take the class and further their breadth of knowledge in the subject area. We really want to encourage anyone is more than qualified to come up with and teach a STIC and should not hesitate!
We are currently accepting applications through October 21st, (but if a student is interested and needs some more time we can be flexible so long as it’s not a course for the CMSC department). The link to the application is ter.ps/appystics23.
