Position Description
The Federal Reserve Board Reserve Bank Operations and Payment System’s Protection Section is seeking a college student interested in criminal justice related field of work. The year-round intern will help assist the section provide guidance and assistance to Reserve Banks, the Board of Governors, and Board staff on issues related to protecting and maintaining the resiliency of Federal Reserve operations and critical infrastructure, and operating Federal Reserve law enforcement units. The intern will assist with the Federal Reserve System Federal Law Enforcement training program records. Compiling and revising Section Manuals/ Database; performing research on Accreditation/Policy matters; other accreditation tasks as directed. Assisting with the overhaul of the Protection Section’s shared database including Law Enforcement call Logs. Updating the Protection Section Reference Information book (Protection section as well as other LE managers throughout the FRS use this book). Reference material would be from existing print documents and electronic; Gather all current, historical print and e-filed memorandums and update in proper folders on the Section’s shared G Drive Documents Library. This would involve collecting and gathering emails, reports and files stored electronically and create or add to our Documents Library on the shared G drive; Revise and improve the data base system to better collect reportable data for training requirements with the BoG, FRS and referred to by the Federal Law Enforcement Accreditation Board; Enhance our reportable database program to better record and monitor our ongoing programs and initiatives.

Notes:

  • This role will start in January 2023 and run for one year. The selected candidate will work a minimum of 20 hours per week during the semesters and 40 hours per week during the summer.
  • This role is located in Washington DC and will require on-site presence, at least six days a month
  • US Citizenship is required for all Board internships; applicants must be current students graduating from their program Fall 2023 or later.
