The Department of Corrections (DOC) is currently seeking highly qualified individuals to fill multiple vacancies as a Correctional Treatment Coordinator I/II (Clinical Case Manager) position, grade Q-18/21, in the Community Corrections Division. This is a dually allocated position whereby the incumbents will be noncompetively promoted to Correctional Treatment Coordinator II, after serving a successful 12-month probationary period.  This is entry to full performance level professional work, whereby the incumbent performs a full range of assignments in rehabilitative and remedial social services to inmates/detainees, within a Correctional Facility. Work is performed under the close supervision of a higher level Correctional Treatment Coordinator and evaluated through conferences, review of completed work, and observation of performance.  The incumbent is expected to make independent clinical decisions about diagnosis and treatment plans.  *This position is considered "Essential".  The incumbent selected for this position must be willing to stay or report to work during a man-made crisis or inclement weather when other county employees have been granted administrative leave.

Examples of Work
What You'll Do:
  • Coordinates re-entry clinical services for inmates/detainees with significant mental health issues
  • Develops, implements, and coordinates pre-release and post-release re-entry services and programs for individuals with mental health diagnoses
  • Maintains caseload files and data entries in the re-entry case management database
  • Maintains accurate records to ensure statistics are compiled accurately on a weekly/monthly basis; drafts reports, composes letters and memorandums
  • Attends monthly meetings
  • Assists in providing support to contract employees, volunteers and intern staff; communicates individual caseloads, programmatic needs, and capabilities to external entities 
  • Facilitates psycho educational classes and therapeutic groups
  • Coordinates and research productive community partnerships for re-entry programs focusing on those serving individuals with mental health diagnoses.
  • Possesses the ability to access, retrieve and interpret information obtained from the Criminal Justice computer networks at local, State and National levels; maintains National Crime Information Center (NCIC) certification                  
  • Serves as court liaison.
Qualifications
What You'll Need:
Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Criminology, Sociology, Public or Business Administration or other appropriate major field; or an equivalent combination or education and experience.
