Summary
The DCSA Student Experience (DSE) is a paid internship program designed to attract diverse and talented sophomores, juniors or seniors enrolled full-time in the fall of 2023 in an undergraduate degree program from an accredited college or university. Students have an opportunity to gain marketable developmental experience in counterintelligence and insider threat, industrial security, personnel security, security training, and other DCSA core mission and support areas.

This announcement is open to: Current undergraduate students in an accredited college or university that will be starting their sophomore, junior or senior year in fall of 2023 with a graduation date spring 2024 or later.

Duties
As a STUDENT TRAINEE (Personnel Security Specialist) you will be responsible for the following duties:

The student intern will support the day-to-day BI mission's threat coordination operations production to ensure optimal efficiency, timeliness and quality. The student intern will also include assisting in workload integration, operations, productivity, efficiency and support to Threat referred issues. Additional duties include organizing and maintaining working files, personal files, electronic directories and other correspondence to other agencies.

The BI Directorate strengthens national security at home and abroad by conducting background investigations and continuous evaluation services in accordance with Executive Order 12467, as amended. BI's personnel vetting services and products ensure that all persons performing work for or on behalf of the Federal Government are, and continue to be, loyal to the United States, reliable, trustworthy, and of good conduct and character.BI Directorate Investigations Threat Operations Group serves as the operational, analytical, case control, and coordination focal point for all serious threat indicators associated with loyalty, terrorism, potential espionage, aggravated criminal, and insider threat issues related to DCSA background investigations.
